Il Garante privacy del Lussemburgo ha inflitto a Amazon la sanzione più alta da quando è entrato in vigore il GDPR: 746 milioni di euro. Lo scorso anno la medesima società è stata destinataria di ulteriori provvedimenti per un totale di 307 milioni di euro.
La motivazione alla base delle multe è la stessa: violazioni nel trattamento di dati personali degli utenti in relazione alle attività di marketing e pubblicità.
Federprivacy ricorda che “la commissione lussemburghese è il principale organo di vigilanza per le attività di Amazon nell’Ue come “autorità capofila”, in quanto la società ha la sede del suo quartier generale europeo a Lussemburgo.”
Amazon ha già annunciato che ricorrerà in appello contro la sanzione, che ritiene infondata e sproporzionata.
